Tacos and Doggos

ZilkerBark’s world-famous Tacos and Doggos event is back!

ZilkerBark is excited to present you with a fun little project we’ve been working on.  This event will have good times, tacos and doggos. Best of all, the experience is 100% free to attend!  The events will take place on a taco Tuesday each month and will feature local tacos, drinks, vendors, and a custom dog photo set for you to snap a photo of your dog! Below are some of the details about the event. If you’re interested in attending, we highly recommend that you sign up for our text message and email alerts, they will be our primary form of promotion!

What to expect from Tacos & Doggos

TACOS!

Wish you could order tasty tacos while also helping dogs in need? Well, you can! This event will feature a custom taco menu and 50% of the sales from this menu will be donated to Austin Humane Society.

DOGGOS!

Don’t forget fido! We’ve got a custom Tacos and Doggos photo set created for you to pose your pups in. This set will be a “self-service” feature, you can take your own photos. Don’t worry, we’ve set you up for success!

Please, please, please try your best to keep your dog from urinating or damaging the set! I’m looking at you, intact males… 👀

ADOPTABLE DOGS!

Love dogs so much that you wish you could adopt one from an event?? Well, lucky for you, Austin Human Society will be in attendance! Stop by their booth and check out some of the tacos that could become your new best friends!

DRINKS!

Nothing washes down a taco quite like a tasty cocktail. This event will feature a full bar and a speciality cocktail menu. For each drink purchased from the event drink menu, $1 will be donated to Austin Humane Society.

VENDORS!

We’re very selective with the brands that we partner with because we want to make sure those brands align with our views! Each event will feature a few of our favorite local vendors and we’re sure you’ll love what they have to offer. THE PURPOSE BEHIND TACOS AND DOGGOS…

ZilkerBark has done over 50 dog portrait events. During those events, we photograph anywhere between 7 and 10 dogs every 10 minutes. Needless to say, it’s A LOT of work!

Our goal with these events is to create a community event where we can spend more time getting to know the dog folks in the Austin community. We’ve yet to establish exactly what our photography role in these events will be, so this first event we’re going to be trying a few things out.

We’ll be wandering the event photographing dogs. We’ll be testing the viability of a 1970’s Polaroid instant print camera. We might even offer you a “mini session”, a 5-10min experience where we wander the patio to find some nice photo ops for your dog.

The photos that we take during the event will be uploaded to our website the next day and available for purchase. We don’t often do night photos, so these images should have their own unique look and feel!

After the event, we’ll be reaching out to y’all for your feedback about the event. Our hope is to do this event monthly and we want to make it the best it can be!
