Welp, the 2024 second annual Great Pug Meetup was a success, with 465 pugs in attendance and over $5,000 raised for the Pug Rescue of Austin!

The date has been set for this year’s event:
Saturday, March 1st, 11am-3pm. We’re expecting an even bigger turnout this year so we’re hosting the event at one of Austin’s largest venues, with plenty of parking: Lustre Pearl South!

2025 Meetup Details

Last year’s event was a HUGE success, but we’re excited to introduce you to all of the new things this year’s event has to offer. The 2025 Great Pug Meetup will take place at Lustre Pearl South, which can hold 3x the attendance of last year’s venue. Which means, we have room for more pugs, more people, and more activities!

This year, the event will feature:

  • 🏁 PUG RACES! - SIGN UP HERE

    • $10 to enter, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Pug Rescue of Austin.

    • Races will be tournament style, with heats of four until an ultimate winner is decided!

    • The top three will receive prizes.

  • 🐾 Dog Toy Run by Austin Subaru

    • A fenced-off area full of dog toys! For a $5 minimum donation to the Pug Rescue of Austin, your Pug can enter and select their favorite toy to take home!

    • Pre-purchase not required! Head to the Austin Subaru Dog Toy Run during the event to participate

  • 🐶 Adoptable dogs from Pug Rescue of Austin

  • 📸 Dog photos from ZilkerBark

    • Custom photo booth for your Pug to pose in!

    • Photos can include you and your pug, or your pug by itself

    • Online pre-purchase is encouraged!

PUG RACES!

Start training your pug! During the event we’ll be hosting what will probably be the slowest race tournament of all time! Races will run from 11am-2pm and all pugs are welcome, *pug mixes too but pug mixes can’t be taller than 14” from top of shoulder to floor*

Each dog will require an entry. To compete, your dog must be up to date on vaccines and not have any history of aggression or reactivity.

RULES:
Your dog will be placed in our Pug Launch Box. Dogs will run to their owners at the end of the race course. The first dog to cross the finish line from each heat will advance (we recommend two humans to support one dog).

All proceeds will be donated to the Pug Rescue of Austin. Prizes for 1st and 2nd place!

REFUND POLICY:
100% refund available within 48hrs of booking, NO REFUND after!

PUG PORTRAITS!

Each photo experience will be between one and three minutes. By booking a time slot you're welcome to show up for your photo anytime within 10 minutes of your time slot. Photos will be uploaded to an online gallery and emailed to you within one week after the shoot.

We will only photograph one dog at a time so each dog will require their own appointment.
